Manifesting Body Diet and Fitness Plan – Day 28

May 18, 2015 by Paul Leave a Comment

So it’s been about two weeks since my last weight loss / fitness plan update.

In my last update I introduced my tracking sheet and the concept of “THE GAP”.

“THE GAP” is basically the amount of FAT that I still have left to lose to hit my target weight.

When I started this journey on April 20th, my starting weight was 245.1 lbs and my target weight was 180.0 lbs, so the gap was exactly 65.1 lbs.

Here’s what that looked like in my spreadsheet:

So that was my starting point.

As of today, my tracker looks like this:

I’m still very early in my journey here so the numbers aren’t that significant yet, but do you see how this method of tracking “THE GAP” is more effective than just tracking your weight and target weight?

Meaning, as you can see, during the last 4 weeks I’ve lost 5.9 lbs of weight, but at the same time I’ve also put on 0.3 lbs of muscle, which means that the amount of actual FAT LOSS – which is what I really want – is actually 6.2 lbs, and not just 5.9 lbs.

Now I know, some of you might be thinking “Cmon Paul, 5.9lbs … 6.2lbs… big deal, pretty much the same number… you lost 6 lbs, we get it… why waste your time tracking the extra 0.3 lbs etc.”

And at this point in my journey I would agree with you… that 0.3 lbs of muscle gain isn’t a huge factor in the overall numbers here – BUT that is only because so far I’ve only done two full body strength training sessions since starting my program, and that is about to change in a big way.

I’ve been sick this last week and a half with a cold/flu, so I didn’t do my strength training session last week, and also I only have my DAY 1 personalize training program from my trainer so far.

I have two more sessions with my personal trainer Sam this coming week where he will be teaching me my Day 2 an Day 3 programs and then I plan on doing strength training three times a week, so I anticipate that my muscle gains WILL play a much bigger role in these calculations going forward.

Why is Tracking Important for Motivation?

Now you might be thinking… why even bother tracking all these things anyways?

Why not just set a target weight, and then weigh yourself once in a while and keep going until you hit your target.

Well, back in 2009 that is pretty much exactly what I tried to do.

My starting weight back then was 212.0 lbs, and I started this training program called P90X.

I worked out every day for 8 weeks straight without skipping a single workout.

No matter what, I did every workout, and I followed the P90x diet guidelines about 80%, and after 8 weeks I did my weigh in.

I thought for sure that I must have lost at least 10-20 lbs from all the blood and sweat that I put into the program…

But you know what my weight was after 8 weeks?

212 lbs!!!

I hadn’t lost a single pound!

I was so discouraged, and even though there were other factors that played into the equation in my life at that time as well, one of the reasons I ended up quitting that program was because it felt so discouraging to not see ANY progress on my scale.

Now, here’s the thing…

What REALLY happened is that I was putting on muscle during that program, while at the same time simultaneously losing some fat.

And essentially any fat that I was losing was offset by any muscle gains, so the net result was a zero difference in my weight.

Now because I had no way to track my lean body mass vs fat mass back then, I don’t know if I lost 5lbs of fat and gained 5lbs of muscle, or if I lost 10lbs of fat and gained 10lbs of muscle, or what the actual numbers were.

I know for sure that I put on muscle because I was definitely WAY stronger after 8 weeks than when I started and I do know I lost fat because my waist measurements did shrink, but I don’t know how much I lost.

And the interesting thing was that even though I knew these things at a conscious level, at a more basic subconscious level I was disappointed and depressed about the fact that my body weight hadn’t moved at all!

Do you know how annoyingly depressing it is to work your ass off (literally) for 8 weeks straight, working out every day, no matter what, and following a diet and then 8 weeks later you see absolutely no change on your scale?

If I was tracking my stats much more closely like I am now, I probably would have been way more motivated to keep going.

That is why I track my stats so closely nowadays.

Even though I know that the stats I’m tracking are not 100% accurate, since the Fitbit Aria scale I’m using isn’t 100% accurate in calculating body fat vs lean body mass, it’s still better to see SOME kind of stats than nothing.

Like when I look at my numbers above and I think to myself that I’ve already lost 6.2 lbs of fat in the first 4 weeks on this plan, that gets me excited and keeps me motivated to keep going.

Now, granted that a part of that weight loss did come from the last few days of me being sick and not having much of an appetite, but still… 6.2 lbs of fat loss is 6.2 lbs of fat loss. 🙂

It’s exciting!

My next step in the program this week is getting my Day 2 and Day 3 programs from my personal trainer and then I’ll go from there.

I’m really curious to see how my body responds to the strength training program when I start doing it three times a week.

Stay tuned!

How to Stay Motivated to Keep Blogging Long Term

May 17, 2015 by Paul 3 Comments

I started blogging in April of 2006.

If there is one question that I have been asked more times about blogging than any other question it would be this:

“Paul, how the heck do you stay motivated to keep blogging?”

I’ve seen SO many people get excited about blogging, launch their blogs, full of energy and hope and a desire to change the world, and then completely fizzle out after just a few weeks or at the most a few months.

I find it absolutely fascinating to talk to people and hear the excuses they come up with for not continuing to blog.

I use the word “excuses” because that’s all they are.

I’ve heard them all, and I’ve pretty much USED them all myself as well at some point in my blogging career!

But you know what?

In all of my years of blogging, there is only ONE DIFFERENCE that I have seen between bloggers who continue to blog on a regular basis long term and those who quit after a few weeks or months…

That’s it… just ONE DIFFERENCE!

Do you want to know what it is?

I’ll tell you, but chances are if you’re like most of the bloggers I have revealed this to, you won’t believe me.

If you’re like most bloggers, you’ll argue that you’re different, that this ONE THING doesn’t apply to you for some reason, and then a few weeks or months later you’ll end up quitting blogging.

This one thing is a mindset shift that I have seen ALL successful bloggers have, and I believe it is THE differentiating factor.

So what is it?

The one difference between successful bloggers who keep blogging and those who give up is that the successful bloggers are not ashamed, not afraid and do not feel guilty about MAKING MONEY with their blogs.

That’s it.

That’s the ONE difference.

I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been part of the “Lightworker” community for so long now or what but you won’t believe how many times I have heard the words “But Paul, I don’t want to make money with my blog.  I just want to help people.   I want to share the knowledge and wisdom I’ve learned about stuff and I want to share it with people.  I don’t care if my blog makes money.”

That’s a pile of bullshit.

I’m sorry, but it is.

You *DO* want your blog to make money, but you’re just afraid to admit it because somewhere along the way you were programmed to believe that you shouldn’t charge someone money for doing something you enjoy / love doing.

You’re afraid that if people come to your blog and read your content and they see that you’re making money from your blog that somehow that’s going to soil your “reputation”.

As if making money with your blog was some kind of dirty deed or something!

Let me ask you something… if you had to have brain surgery tomorrow, and you found out that your brain surgeon gets paid for doing brain surgeries, would you think to yourself “oh, what a crappy brain surgeon…I bet he doesn’t even care about saving people’s lives… he must be in this just for the money because I found out he’s actually getting paid to do this”????

No, you probably wouldn’t, right?

If you needed help from a police officer would you say to them, “Wait, hold on… do you get paid to be a police officer?  Wait, what?!  You get paid!?  Oh, that means you don’t actually do this to help people, you’re just doing this for the money… you scum!”???

No, you probably wouldn’t, right?

Would you judge a teacher who gets paid to teach for a living as doing something wrong just because they get paid to teach?

No, you probably wouldn’t, right?

Would you judge a firefighter who gets paid to fight fires as doing something wrong just because they get paid to fight those fires?

No, you probably wouldn’t, right?

For some weird reason, that I still don’t understand though, when it comes to blogging I have seen so many people SCARED to admit that they want to make money from their blogs.

I don’t really get it.

Just get over yourself already.

It’s OKAY to make money as a blogger.

There’s nothing wrong with it, and a LOT of things RIGHT with it!

First of all, you have to realize that there is a COST to you and your family for you to blog.

You’re investing your time and energy and resources to create blog content on a regular basis.

You DESERVE to make money for those efforts.

See, here’s the thing…

People ask me how I stay motivated to blog…

The answer is simple… I stay motivated to blog because blogging puts MONEY in my family’s pocket!!!

See, sooner or later, if your blog is NOT making you any money, you’re going to run into a situation where you have to decide to invest an hour of your time writing your next blog post or watching the latest season of your favorite show on Netflix…

… and if your blog is not making you any money, your mind will just think “Meh, blog can wait, it’s Netflix time!”

Or sooner or later, if your blog is NOT making you any money, you’re going to run into a situation where you have to decide to invest an hour of your time writing your next blog post or spend an hour doing something else that DOES make you money…

… and once again you’ll probably pick the thing that makes you money, such as working overtime at your job or taking on some extra part-time work.

Now, let’s look at it from a different perspective.

Imagine that your blog IS making you money every single month and your blogging income is growing.

Do you think you would be maybe just a LITTLE bit more motivated to write a blog post instead of watching Netflix if your blog was making you $1,000 cash every month?

Do you think that your spouse would be a LITTLE bit more supportive of you taking some time to write your next blog post if your blog was paying for your next vacation?

Do you think that you might be a LITTLE bit more likely to push through any “writers block” excuses you might have if you knew that your blog was going to help you get a free car paid for by your blog?

So what motivates the top bloggers out there to keep blogging day in and day out, regardless of the obstacles that come up in their way?

The same thing that motivates YOU to wake up at 7am on weekdays and battle traffic to get your ass to your job…

… MONEY!

It’s as simple as that.

Unless you’re already completely financially independent… like it or not, MONEY is a HUGE motivating force in your life.

If your boss came to you tomorrow and told you that unfortunately starting tomorrow you aren’t going to get paid to do your job anymore, how much longer do you think you’d be “motivated” to go to work?

You’d quit in 2 seconds.

It’s the same with blogging… if you make money with your blog, you’ll stay motivated… if you LIE to yourself and try to pretend that you’re Mother Theresa and that you don’t care about money, you’ll end up giving up.

(Incidentally, even Mother Theresa understood the need for money and raised INCREDIBLE amounts of money for her charity.  So even she didn’t pretend like money wasn’t important.  She constantly focused on raising money for her charitable work.)

Now, I’m not saying that ALL you care about is money.

That’s not true.

Money is actually kind of a useless thing…just pieces of paper or numbers on some computer screen.

It’s not actually money that motivates us, but rather the things we can DO with the money we manifest!

When you make $50 with your Blog, you can use some of that money to fund micro-loans in 3rd world countries!

When you make $500 with your Blog, you can invest into better blogging equipment (camera, lighting, etc.) and produce even BETTER content for your audience.

When you make $1000 with your Blog, you can pay off a debt you owe and relieve some stress from you and your spouse.

When you start making $500/m with your Blog, you can hire a cleaner to help clean your home so that you can focus on more important things like creating MORE awesome content for the world.

When you make $5,000 with your Blog, you can take your family on a vacation!

The things you can do with the money you make blogging are infinite!

And it is those THINGS…. funding that micro-loan, or getting that better equipment for your blog, or paying off that debt, or hiring that cleaner or taking your family on a vacation that will MOTIVATE you to keep blogging!

Get it?

You BLOG to share your wisdom and to help the world… I get it.

But you also have to accept the fact that if you want to REALLY help the world as a Blogger you need to start making MONEY from Blogging so that you can do all those things I mentioned above and MORE and so that 5 years from now you’re still blogging!

You need to get your blog to the point where it’s making you so much money that you can quit your job and Blog full time.

You need to get your blog to the point where it’s making you so much money that you can pay off ALL your debts, including your mortgage so that you can experience the feeling of what it feels like to be debt-free and so that you can blog from a place of having that raised energetic vibration.

You need to get your blog to the point where it’s making you so much money that you can invest in the things you believe in… projects, charities, organizations, causes, people…whatever you believe in!

But it all starts with first learning how to MONETIZE your blog properly and what it really takes to make money as a Blogger.

Healing Sickness Within the Body Vibrationally

May 15, 2015 by Paul Leave a Comment

I’ve had a cold/flu for the last few days and that has got me thinking about healing and health and the energetic / vibrational aspects of healing and health.

I normally never get sick, so this isn’t really an area of life that I do a lot of digging around in, but today I decided to see what Abraham / Esther Hicks says about healing.

I found one video from Abraham which really connected some dots for me.

Check it out here:

What do you think?

When the Universe Winks At You

May 14, 2015 by Paul 4 Comments

At certain times in my life I have been able to activate a very interesting phenomenon where I go through a period of time where a whole bunch of “co-incidences” or as Deepak Chopra calls them “Synchronicities” seem to show up in my life in a very profound way.

The first time I went through this phenomenon was back in 2001 / 2002 when a good friend of mine and I really got heavily into studying the Law of Attraction.

We immersed ourselves in everything related to the Law of Attraction, reading books, listening to audios, meditating and manifesting all kinds of weird stuff.

There was one book, however, that seemed to greatly accelerate and unlock this process where seemingly on a daily basis we were manifesting anywhere from one to ten different events that were just TOO WEIRD to be a co-incidence.

You know when you have one of those moments where you think of someone you haven’t thought about for a really long time, and in that exact moment they phone you?

Or when you think of a song you haven’t heard in a really long time and a few moments later it starts playing on the radio?

Well when that type of thing happens to someone ONCE in like a month or a year, people think it’s a co-incidence and dismiss it as nothing more than chance.

But imagine if you were able to activate a phenomenon where this type of thing was happening to you EVERY DAY, multiple times per day!

That is exactly what happened to my friend and I.

Really weird stuff started to happen over and over again, and it got to the point where we were even starting to scare the people around us. 🙂

We would go for lunch with a small group of people and in a one hour time-span a whole bunch of weird stuff like that would happen and the people we were with were starting to get scared by it – LOL.

It got to the point where my friend and I ended up manifesting a physical object in front of us that didn’t belong where we saw it, and it happened under such weird circumstances that it honestly scared the crap out of me.

It’s one thing to play around with the Law of Attraction to help you manifest some extra money, or a new job or a new relationship, but when weird objects start to show up in your reality, it can get a bit scary.

At one point we got to a point where things just got TOO weird and we got a bit scared that we would totally peel away The Matrix so we stopped playing with it!

Fast forward to today, and in the past few weeks I have once again picked up this one book that was the catalyst to all these weird things way back in 2002, and once again WEIRD STUFF is starting to happen.

Since I started reading this book, every single day I am experiencing really weird synchronicities that just keep showing up.

This time around I’m not as scared though, so I’m just allowing more and more of it to flow into my life and it’s a lot of fun to see what the Universe decides to show up in my life that day.

When these weird events happen, I see them as the Universe “winking” at me, showing me just how malleable our reality really is.

In the last few weeks, it’s been “winking” at me every day, multiple times a day and it’s a LOT of fun to experience these weird things.

At some point I might actually shoot some videos or even maybe put together a quick course where I share some of the strategies that I have found to work in my life that seem to accelerate more and more of these “winks” showing up in your life in a greater frequency.

If this is something you’d like to learn how to do, leave a comment below and I’ll put together some videos where I reveal my strategies for activating this phenomenon in your life as well as the title of the book which significantly boosted the number of “winks” I started receiving from the Universe all of a sudden, almost as if by magic!
