Blog Income Report – July 2015

August 3, 2015 by Paul 3 Comments

It’s time again for another Blog Income Report.

This one is for July 2015.

This month’s report is going to be a bit different from previous ones because this month I launched a second Blog that I’m going to be building out.

Unlike this blog, which is more or less my personal blog where I blog about all kinds of different topics, my second blog is a highly focused niche blog in the tabletop gaming niche.

What I’ve decided to do is to continue blogging on a daily basis, but now my blog posts are going to be spread out over the two different blogs.

I’m trying this out in response to watching my open rates and traffic stats and seeing a trend that perhaps publishing one blog post every single day, 7 days a week, is a bit too much for my readership to consume every single day.

So by splitting my content up across two blogs, I think my readership on each blog will find it easier to keep up with my updates.

Here’s a combined listing of blog posts I’ve written this month on my FreeYouNow.com blog and my TabletopGamer.com blog:

FreeYouNow.com Blog Content Report – July 2015

Here is a recap of all the blog posts I wrote this month:

  • How to Deal With a Very Negative Person
  • Manifesting Body Diet and Fitness Plan – Day 103
  • How to Organize Your TODO List as a Blogger
  • Joe Rogan’s Advice – Do What You Love
  • How the Hell Did I Manifest This!?
  • 5 Mind Hacks For Living a More Awesome Life
  • Why Every Blogger Must Leverage YouTube
  • Are People Vested in Your Success or Failure?
  • My New Blogging Plan
  • Do You Have a Perfect Client Profile for Your Blog?
  • Speed Blogging for Kalatu or WordPress
  • Aerogarden Cherry Tomatoes – Day 171
  • The Dead Simple 4 Step Formula for Achieving Results
  • The Science of Getting Rich Summarized in 17 Key Points
  • How to Develop Your Willpower to Blog
  • 5 Simple Rules Which Helped Me to Blog Daily for Over 6 Months and Still Going
  • Blog Income Report – June 2015
  • Manifesting Body Diet and Fitness Plan – Day 73
  • How to Make Money Online Without Quitting Your Job

That adds up to 19 blog posts written for this FreeYouNow.com blog.

TabletopGamer.com Blog Content Report – July 2015

Now here’s a listing of blog posts from my TabletopGamer.com blog:

  • Best Airbrush For Miniatures – Unboxing the Badger Patriot 105
  • Age of Sigmar Prosecutors – Painting Pics
  • Age of Sigmar Retributors Assembly
  • First Ever TabletopGamer Painting Party
  • Age of Sigmar Prosecutors Assembly – Part 2
  • Age of Sigmar Prosecutor Assembly
  • Age of Sigmar Lord Relictor Assembly
  • Age of Sigmar Lord Celestant Assembly
  • Age of Sigmar Painting Guide Review
  • Age of Sigmar Starter Set Book – In Depth Look
  • Age of Sigmar Starter Set Unboxing
  • My New Wargaming Video Room Setup
  • Warhammer Age of Sigmar – My First Impressions

That adds up to 13 blog posts written for my niche blog.

That’s a total of 32 blog posts this month between the two blogs, which is a bit more than one blog post per day average between the two blogs. 🙂

Blog Traffic Report – July 2015

For my traffic reports I’ve decided to really simply things and just report overall traffic to my Blogs on a monthly basis.

Here’s the traffic reports for my two blogs:

FreeYouNow.com Traffic Jan 2015 – July 2015

My traffic from Jan – July 2015 totaled 22,080 Sessions from 15,936 users, which is an average of 3,154 Sessions per month.

I had a total of 1,994 Sessions in July, which is about 37% less Sessions than my average, which is to be expected since I’ve written about 40% less blog posts this month compared to the previous months.

TabletopGamer.com Traffic Jan 2015 – July 2015

My traffic from Jan –  July 2015 totaled 1,144 Sessions from 867 users, which is an average of 163 Sessions per month.

As you can see I did have some traffic to this old Blog in January and February, and that was mostly from traffic to really old blog posts I wrote way back in 2011.  Then in March / April / May of this year I moved all my content from that Blog to my FreeYouNow.com blog, but then decided to run TabletopGamer.com as a separate blog again at the end of June which is why you see the stats pick up again in June / July.

In July I had 522 Sessions, which is about 320% more traffic compared to the 163 session average, but it’s a bit hard to compare things to an average, since in March/April / May the stats were not counted.

In either case, my combined Sessions from the two blogs in July was 2,516 sessions.

Blog Income Report – July 2015

Okay, so let’s get to the actual blog income report part of this post.

Before I start talking numbers though, just a quick income disclaimer.  My results are not typical, not guaranteed in any way, and you should check out my income disclaimer if that sort of thing floats your boat.

Okay, now that we got that out of the way, here are my stats:

Total Gross Income – $2,996.95

  • Affiliate / MLM Income: $336.30
    • Empower Network
    • AWeber
    • GetResponse
    • JVZoo (Various)
    • IPAS2
    • ClickFunnels
  • Advertising Income (Ad Sales, AdSense, YouTube etc.): $16.25
  • Mentoring / Consulting Income: $2600.00

Total Expenses – $706.94

  • Kalatu Brand Station – $25.00
  • Empower Network Affiliate System – $19.95
  • Empower Network Inner Circle Training – $100.00
  • Hostgator Hosting – $19.90
  • AWeber Email Services – $49.00
  • LeadPages – $67.00
  • LinkTrackr Pro – $19.00
  • AWProTools – $29.99
  • GetResponse – $15.00
  • ClickFunnels – 83.08
  • IPAS2 – $144.00
  • SEO Tools & Training – $112.32
  • Facebok Advertising – $2.75
  • Youngevity – $19.95

Net Income: $2,290.01

Alright, now that we’ve gotten the stats and numbers out of the way, let’s dive into what’s actually been happening in more detail.

Affiliate Income

My affiliate income dropped for this month as I put a lot of my focus into getting TabletopGamer.com re-launched and setup.

I’ve also been building a team website for my Empower Network team to help my team members make more money blogging faster which has been occupying more of my time.

In the short term this has resulted in me personally producing a bit less in sales this past month, but I know that in the long term this will work in my favor as I get more of my team members making more money with their blogs.

The reason why it works that way is because the way the compensation structure works in Empower Network is that the more money I help my team mates make with their blogs, the more money I make as well.  It’s a win/win type of situation.

If you’d like to learn more about Empower Network and how I make money with it, click on this link here to learn more.

Mentoring / Consulting Income

Not much has changed with my consulting income this month.

I’m continuing on with the contracts I’ve got in place, but I haven’t decided whether or not I want to take on any more consulting clients in the future as I want to primarily focus my time and energy on growing my Empower Network team and my TabletopGamer.com niche blog.

Expenses

I was able to cut down on some of my expenses this month, saving myself around $240 as compared to last month.

This was nice because even though my gross income dropped by around $330, with my expenses dropping by $240 or so, my NET income only dropped by around $110.

My Blogging Goals for July

Here were some of my main goals for June:

  • Re-Launch My TabletopGamer.com Blog – Check!
  • Continue bloggin daily across the my two Blogs – Check!
  • Keep my diet & fitness plan on track – Check!
  • Complete the first 6 lessons for my Empower Network Team site – Check!
  • Re-Launch the TabletopGamer YouTube Channel and Start Publishing Videos – Check!

Summary

To summarize, I’ve been making some changes to my blogging plan this past month or so, re-launching my TabletopGamer.com Blog, and getting my Empower Network team training portal setup with more content.

Both of these things are long term projects which will help to fuel the growth of my business in the future.

My net income dropped slightly this month, but the drop in income is negligible as compared to the value I’ll be creating in the market place with my new blog setup, and the membership site I’m building, so I know this will pay off in the long run.

Again this month I’ve maintained my pace of writing one post per day for a total of 30 posts in the month of June.

Blog Traffic Report – June 2015

In the month of June I had a huge increase in my traffic as compared to previous months due to one of my blog posts going viral.

The traffic spike you see on June 9th skyrocketed my traffic for a few days as the post was shared around the Internet.

My other stats look low but they’re not.  They just look low as the graph’s scale changed with the traffic spike that shot my session numbers up to 2,000 visitors in one day.

As you can see in the number above I had over 200% more users in June as compared to May, primarily due to this traffic spike, but of course all my other blog posts also contributed to the number as well.

Here are my traffic stats for June 2015:

  • Total Users: 5,719
  • Total Sessions: 6,525
  • Total Pageviews: 8,278
  • Avg Session Duration: 42 seconds

Now let’s take a look at where my traffic has been coming from.

Blog Traffic Sources Report – June 2015

My blog traffic distribution changed this month with both Direct and Referral traffic going up significantly compared to the other channels.

  • Direct Traffic – 2,319 – 35.5%
  • Social Traffic – 1,325 sessions – 20.3%
  • Referral Traffic – 2,463 sessions – 37.7%
  • Organic Search Traffic – 425 sessions – 6.5%

And here is a 6 month chart of my monthly traffic since I’ve started using the Kalatu Blogging Platform:

Now for the fun part. 🙂

Blog Income Report – June 2015

Okay, so let’s get to the actual blog income report part of this post.

Before I start talking numbers though, just a quick income disclaimer.  My results are not typical, not guaranteed in any way, and you should check out my income disclaimer if that sort of thing floats your boat.

Okay, now that we got that out of the way, here are my stats:

Total Gross Income – $3,341.66

  • Affiliate / MLM Income: $732.20
    • Empower Network
    • AWeber
    • GetResponse
    • JVZoo (Various)
    • IPAS2
    • ClickFunnels
  • Advertising Income (Ad Sales, AdSense, YouTube etc.): $9.46
  • Mentoring / Consulting Income: $2600.00

Total Expenses – $943.11

  • Kalatu Premium Brand Station – $97.00
  • Empower Network Affiliate System – $19.97
  • Empower Network Inner Circle Training – $100.00
  • Hostgator Hosting – $19.90
  • AWeber Email Services – $49.00
  • LeadPages – $67.00
  • LinkTrackr Pro – $19.00
  • AWProTools – $29.99
  • GetResponse – $15.00
  • ClickFunnels – 83.08
  • IPAS2 – $144.00
  • SEO Tools & Training – $253.32
  • Facebok Advertising – $0.00
  • Domain Purchases – $25.90
  • Youngevity – $19.95

Net Income: $2,398.55

Alright, now that we’ve gotten the stats and numbers out of the way, let’s dive into what’s actually been happening in more detail.

Affiliate Income

Once again my affiliate income increased again this month jumping from $598 in May to $732 in June with the biggest portion of that coming from my income from Empower Network.

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, seeing this number going up is the most exciting part of my income for me because it represents my Empower Network’s team growth which is my main long term goal for this blog.

Don’t get me wrong, I love consulting income as well, which makes up the majority of my income, but 1-on-1 consulting work can never be as scalable as leveraged income from something like Empower Network.

I’m really excited to keep seeing growth in this are of my monthly income.

If you’d like to learn more about Empower Network and how I make money with it, click on this link here to learn more.

Mentoring / Consulting Income

Not much has changed with my consulting income this month.

I still haven’t decided whether or not I want to take on any more consulting clients in the future as I want to primarily focus my time and energy on growing my Empower Network team.

Expenses

My expenses this month did go up slightly with a few domain renewals I had to get done and some consulting services I invested in, but outside of that they’ve been pretty stable.

My Blogging Goals for June

Here were some of my main goals for June:

  • Complete another month of daily blogging – Check!
  • Keep my diet & fitness plan on track – Check!
  • Launch a new team membership site for my Empower Network Team – Check!
  • Continue to grow my Empower Network team – Check!
  • Take on at least 5 mentoring students within my Empower Network Team – Check!

Summary

To summarize, my blogging income continues to slowly grow at a steady pace and I’m really looking forward to seeing my Empower Network income starting to grow at a more exponential rate as I mentor and teach my team-mates how to make money with their blogs as well.

  • Blog Income Report – April 2015

Once again this month I’ve been able to maintain my pace of writing one blog post per day for a total of 31 blog posts in the month of May.

Blog Traffic Report – May 2015

In the month of May I had a slight increase in my traffic as compared to the month of April.  Here are my traffic stats for May 2015:

  • Total Users: 1,943
  • Total Sessions: 2,450
  • Total Pageviews: 3,544
  • Avg Session Duration: 1 minute 06 seconds

Besides blogging on a daily basis and emailing my email list and posting my blog posts on facebook I haven’t really been putting a lot of focus on growing my traffic, so I’m happy with even just a slight increase in my stats.

In future moths if I decide to put more focus towards growing my traffic stats, then we should see more drastic increases.

Overall my traffic this month was up by approximately 9% as compared to last month.

Now let’s take a look at where my traffic has been coming from.

Blog Traffic Sources Report – May 2015

My blog traffic distribution was pretty similar to last month, with just a few slight changes.

  • Direct Traffic – 932 sessions – 38%
  • Social Traffic – 353 sessions – 14.4%
  • Referral Traffic – 749 sessions – 30.6%
  • Organic Search Traffic – 409 sessions – 16.7%

Now for the fun part. 🙂

Blog Income Report – May 2015

Okay, so let’s get to the actual blog income report part of this post.

Before I start talking numbers though, just a quick income disclaimer.  My results are not typical, not guaranteed in any way, and you should check out my income disclaimer if that sort of thing floats your boat.

Okay, now that we got that out of the way, here are my stats:

Total Gross Income – $3,209.51

  • Affiliate / MLM Income: $598.01
    • Empower Network
    • AWeber
    • GetResponse
    • JVZoo (Various)
    • IPAS2
    • ClickFunnels
  • Advertising Income (Ad Sales, AdSense, YouTube etc.): $11.50
  • Mentoring / Consulting Income: $2600.00

Total Expenses – $697.81

  • Kalatu Brand Station – $42.00
  • Empower Network Affiliate System – $19.97
  • Empower Network Inner Circle Training – $100.00
  • Hostgator Hosting – $19.90
  • AWeber Email Services – $49.00
  • LeadPages – $67.00
  • LinkTrackr Pro – $19.00
  • AWProTools – $29.99
  • GetResponse – $15.00
  • ClickFunnels – 83.08
  • IPAS2 – $144.00
  • SEO Tools & Training – $108.87
  • Facebok Advertising – $0.00

Net Income: $2,506.20

Alright, now that we’ve gotten the stats and numbers out of the way, let’s dive into what’s actually been happening in more detail.

Affiliate Income

My affiliate income increased again this month jumping up to $598.01, so just a few dollars short of $600.

A large portion of that, about $518 worth, came directly from my income from Empower Network.

This is by far the most exciting income stream for me because it represents long term passive income to me.

This is also the income stream with the most potential to grow and scale up in the near future.

As much as I love consulting income, it is difficult to scale that up as there are only so many hours per week that I can devote to doing coaching / mentoring / consulting.

With my Empower Network income, however, it’s virtually unlimited in potential as the income has the potential to scale up without much more effort on my part.

If you’d like to learn more about Empower Network and how I make money with it, click on this link here to learn more.

Mentoring / Consulting Income

My mentoring and consulting income was the same as last month and continues to be my highest income stream right now from my Blog.

One of the benefits of running a blog that many don’t realize is that you can use your blog to promote your own products or services.

Many people think that the only way to monetize their blogs is by having banner ads or affiliate links on their sites, but you can actually also make a really good income by providing products and services for sale on your blog.

Expenses

My expenses this month were very similar to last month.

Very few changes.

I do plan on cutting out a few more expenses for services and products I’ve been testing for a few months that I don’t need anymore.

My Blogging Goals for May

Here were some of my main goals for May:

  • Participate in my 5th 21 Day Blogging Challenge – Check!
  • Continue on with daily blogging – Check!
  • Research and test out free traffic strategies – Check!
  • Record More “Driving With Paul” Episodes – Check!
  • Increase my Blogging business profits – Check!
  • Grow my Empower Network Team and Income – Check!

Summary

To summarize, my blogging income continues to grow pretty steadily and I’m especially excited about the growth of my Empower Network income.

My Empower Network team is starting to grow and my team-mates are also starting to generate income from their blogs.

Blog Income Report – April 2015

May 1, 2015 by Paul 3 Comments

Now that April has zoomed by so quickly, it’s time again for my official Blog Income Report blog post again.

This month I started putting a lot more time, energy and resources into getting my health and fitness plan in motion, but that didn’t stop me from cranking out yet another 30 blog posts in 30 days.

Blog Content Report – April 2015

Here is a recap of all the blog posts I wrote this month:

  • Blog Income Report – March 2015

As in the previous months, I once again participated in the 21 Day Blogging Challenge put on by Empower Network, which is available to all bloggers regardless whether they are a part of Empower Network or not.

The 21 Day Blogging Challenge is a great way to build the habit of daily blogging.  I highly recommend it to anyone just starting out or for existing bloggers who are ready to take things to the next level.

Blog Traffic Report – April 2015

In this fourth month of running this new blog, here are some of my stats for the month of April 2015:

  • Total Users: 1,760
  • Total Sessions: 2,230
  • Total Pageviews: 3,261
  • Avg Session Duration: 1 minute 04 seconds

Although these stats show a decline in my numbers as compared to March, I know one of the major reasons for this is because I have not been emailing out all of my Blog posts to my email list every day.

I’ve been experimenting with emailing my list less often versus emailing every day to find out what is the best emailing frequency that people like.

Now let’s take a look at where my traffic has been coming from.

Blog Traffic Sources Report – April 2015

As you can see from the charts above, my blog traffic distribution changed this month due to the less frequent emailing of my list.

  • Direct Traffic – 898 sessions – 40.3%
  • Social Traffic – 330 sessions – 14.8%
  • Referral Traffic – 525 sessions – 23.5%
  • Organic Search Traffic – 471 sessions – 21.1%

Now for the fun part. 🙂

Blog Income Report – April 2015

Okay, so let’s get to the actual blog income report part of this post.

Before I start talking numbers though, just a quick income disclaimer.  My results are not typical, not guaranteed in any way, and you should check out my income disclaimer if that sort of thing floats your boat.

Okay, now that we got that out of the way, here are my stats:

Total Gross Income – $3,094.32

  • Affiliate / MLM Income: $479.15
    • Empower Network
    • AWeber
    • GetResponse
    • JVZoo (Various)
    • IPAS2
    • Dubli
    • ClickFunnels
  • Advertising Income (Ad Sales, AdSense, YouTube etc.): $4.07
  • Mentoring / Consulting Income: $2600.00

Total Expenses – $879.81

  • Kalatu Brand Station – $25.00
  • Empower Network Affiliate System – $19.97
  • Empower Network Inner Circle Training – $100.00
  • Hostgator Hosting – $19.90
  • AWeber Email Services – $49.00
  • LeadPages – $67.00
  • LinkTrackr Pro – $19.00
  • AWProTools – $29.99
  • GetResponse – $15.00
  • ClickFunnels – 83.08
  • IPAS2 – $144.00
  • Dubli Monthly Voucher – $99.00
  • Secret to Life Coaching Course – $100.00
  • SEO Tools & Training – $108.87
  • Facebok Advertising – $0.00

Net Income: $2,214.31

Alright, so let’s dive into what has been happening this month.

Affiliate Income

My affiliate income this month jumped up to $479, which is exciting as affiliate income is my favorite type of income due to the fact that it can have a passive component to it.

If you’d like to learn how to build up your affiliate income, check out my previous income reports where I’ve covered this topic in more detail, and also check out this video here.

Mentoring / Consulting Income

My mentoring and consulting income was the same as last month and continues to be my highest income stream right now from my Blog.

What most Bloggers don’t realize is that one of the BIGGEST benefits to starting a Blog is that it can help you get consulting / coaching / mentoring clients.

In my opinion EVERYONE should have a Blog regardless what type of business you’re in.

Check out my post on Who Should Blog and Why for a detailed list of people who would benefit most from a Blog.

Now, let’s briefly touch on my expenses for this month.

Expenses

As you can see from my report above, my expenses for this month have actually dropped while my income has gone up!

This is because a lot of the initial expenses I had for getting my Blog started are ONE TIME initial expenses.

As an entrepreneur you may have to invest in your business, especially in the beginning.

You don’t need to overspend on useless crap, but investing into your business strategically, such as buying training courses or getting mentored by the top people in the industry is a great way to get your business growing faster.

I meet so many young entrepreneurs who haven’t learned this lesson yet, and they’re so afraid to invest any money into their business.

They want everything for free and they have this entitlement mentality that just leads them to failure.

Don’t be afraid to invest in yourself and your business.

You will most likely never find a better investment that pays higher dividends long term than investing in yourself.

Some of you may also remember that back in January I wrote a post declaring my intention to build up my blog business income up to the point where I can get a Free Car from Blogging.

Obviously I’ve now blown past that goal, and I can afford a new car with my Blog, so I’ll be writing an update Blog post sharing my intentions with that very soon.

Keep an eye out for that. 🙂

What’s awesome about the 21 Day Blogging Challenge is that you get to participate in a challenge with other like-minded people, which helps you to build the habit of blogging consistently.

Being a part of the 21 Day Blogging Challenge also gives you an opportunity to gain some extra exposure, to connect with other bloggers who are also doing the challenge and to get ideas for the types of blog posts you can create.

If you want to jump-start your blogging career, I highly recommend doing the 21 Day Blogging Challenge.

Blog Traffic Report – March 2015

In this third month of running this new blog, here are some of my stats for the month of March 2015:

  • Total Users: 2,104
  • Total Sessions: 2,983
  • Total Pageviews: 4,531
  • Avg Session Duration: 1 minute 20 seconds

These stats actually show that I’ve had a decline in Blog traffic as compared to February.

I haven’t had a chance to dig into these numbers to identify the exact reason behind this, but if I had to take a guess I’d say that it was because my focus for this month was more on increasing the consulting income from my Blog rather than focusing on building my traffic.

Here’s a comparison of the last 31 days ending on March 31st, as compared to the previous 31 days:

Although the numbers dropped this month, I’m not worried about it at all as that wasn’t my focus.

Now let’s take a look at where my traffic has been coming from.

Blog Traffic Sources Report – March 2015

As you can see from the charts above, my blog traffic distribution chart was almost identical to the previous month.

  • Direct Traffic – 1,478 sessions – 49.5%
  • Social Traffic – 454 sessions – 15.2%
  • Referral Traffic – 418 sessions – 14.0%
  • Organic Search Traffic – 621 sessions – 20.8%

Now let’s move onto the fun part. 🙂

Blog Income Report – March 2015

Okay, so let’s get to the actual blog income report part of this post, and then I’ll explain all the changes.

Before I start talking numbers though, just a quick income disclaimer.  My results are not typical, not guaranteed in any way, and you should check out my income disclaimer if that sort of thing floats your boat.

Okay, now that we got that out of the way, here are my stats:

Net Income: $1,199.15

Alright, so let’s dive into what has been happening this month.

Affiliate Income

My affiliate income this month was just over $330.

As I’ve mentioned in the past, affiliate income is my favorite income as it has the potential to become passive or semi-passive in nature once it’s setup and running.

If you’d like to learn how to build up your affiliate income, check out my previous income reports where I’ve covered this topic in more detail, and also check out this video here.

Mentoring / Consulting Income

My second favorite income, after affiliate income, is consulting / mentoring income.

One of the things that most people don’t realize when they start a Blog is that there are so many different ways to monetize a Blog — you are NOT limited to just putting up banners or AdSense ads or other forms of advertising income.

Besides of course affiliate income, one of the easiest ways I have found for quickly building up the income from your Blog is to start offering Mentoring and Consulting Services to your audience.

Life coaching, mentoring, technology consulting, marketing consulting, selling artwork and selling music are just a few examples of other ways you can make money with your Blog.

The cool thing about being part of the Empower Network is that even if you have ZERO experience with marketing online, just by joining Empower Network and plugging into our training and our weekly hangouts and webinars, you can become an online marketing expert VERY quickly and offer those services to businesses as a consultant.

The truth is that most local businesses right now are struggling to learn how to market themselves online, and with just a few weeks worth of training you can know a tonne more than 95% of the local business owners out there and could easily approach them to offer your services as a consultant, if you wanted to.

Of course Blog / Internet Marketing / Website consulting is NOT the only type of consulting you can offer on your Blog!

As I mentioned last month, my wife offers energy healings, psychic readings, and various different workshops on her Blog.  She started her blog back in 2009 and it wasn’t long before she was able to quit her day job to work from home offering those services she loves helping people with.

It really doesn’t matter what kind of services or products you’d like to offer people, starting a Blog is an awesome way to build your brand and to develop a client base!

Now, let’s briefly touch on my expenses for this month.

Expenses

As you can see from my report above, my expenses for this month have stabilized compared to last month.

In fact they actually dropped a little bit.

This pattern is very common for a new business.

You might start out having to invest more money than you make at first, so for the first while your expenses might actually be higher than your income and your business might lose money.

For brick-and-mortar type businesses in the “real world” this period of time could be as long as 2-5 years!

Sometimes even longer!

As someone who has ran and built brick-and-mortar businesses in the past, I *KNOW* how long it takes for such a business to become profitable, which is why I have a much different perspective in my online businesses than most people do.

Most people who start an online business or an MLM business have a mindset where they think that if their business doesn’t make them a profit in the first few weeks, that it must mean that that business model is no good.

That is *NOT* how business works.

That is how *JOBS* work.

At a job, you go to work for two weeks or a month, and then you get a paycheck.

The idea of putting forth an effort into something and that thing not paying you an income after 2-4 weeks is very foreign to most employee-minded people, and that it why they continue to work at jobs they hate, because they just don’t understand how entrepreneurship works.

They’ll start a business, and their expectation is that they THINK they’ll make like $5,000 in the first month.

When their business doesn’t make them that much money, they think it’s a failed business concept, or a scam and they blame that business model and quit.

Then a few months later they start another business and again they THINK they’ll make like $5,000 in the first month.

And of course once again they don’t make that much money, and so they think it’s a failed business concept or a scam and they blame that business model and quit.

Then a few months later they do the same thing again and again, each time getting more and more jaded thinking that everything is a scam.

But the funny thing is that in each of those businesses that they were in, there ARE people making good money!

Why is that?

Well, the reason is because those people didn’t come in expecting to make a billion dollars in their first week.  Those people who ARE making money approached the business opportunity with a BUSINESS / ENTREPRENEURIAL mindset!

One of the reasons that I am putting together these Blog Income Reports is to peel back this curtain of misinformation and to show you guys what it really takes to make money online!

If you go back to my January Blog Income Report you’ll see that I actually LOST MONEY that month!

This is what entrepreneurial REALITY looks like.

You might have to invest some time and money up front before you start making money.

In my first month blogging every day I lost money, my second month I more or less broke even with a little bit of profit and only now in this third month I actually made a profit.

Because this is not the first time I’m building a business I have the PERSEVERANCE to stick it out, where most people give up… and that is why they fail … and that is why they are stuck at their jobs.

See most people think that investing a few hundred dollars or even a few thousand dollars into an online business is “risky” compared to having a job…

… LOL …

Really?  Tell that to the 1,500+ Future Shop employees who came to work a few days ago to find the doors locked and their employment terminated when Future Shop shut down all their stores!

Tell that to all the Sony Store employees who also just lost their jobs last month when Sony shut down all 14 of their stores across Canada.

These are just a few examples from literally THOUSANDS of corporations that are laying people off every single day.

Building a business is not risky!  Having a JOB is risky!

But I do understand that running a full time business is not for everyone.  Some people enjoy being employees.

If you’re one of those types of people who likes working for someone else, what I would then recommend is to start building an online business as a secondary income stream!

Why not?  You can use the money to upgrade your car, have more fun on your vacations, pay off some debts, or just to buy some cool toys.

In fact, when you have a full time job which covers all your monthly expenses, that is the BEST time to build a business in your spare time on evenings and weekends because then you won’t be under financial pressure for your business to make money right away!

You can take your time, build up your business income steadily over time and eventually might have a nice passive or at least semi-passive income stream to augment your job income.

And in the event that you come to work one day to find the doors locked and the company shut down at your job, that extra business income might just be the thing that saves your butt until you find the next job!

My Blogging Goals for March

Here were some of my main goals for March:

  • Participate in my 3rd 21 Day Blogging Challenge – Check!
  • Continue on with daily blogging – Check!
  • Clean up my email list – Check!
  • Get a few more mentoring / consulting clients – Check!
  • Become more of an expert in YouTube, Instagram & Pinterest Traffic Strategies – Check!
  • Increase my Blogging business profits – Check!
  • Start doing FREE Weekly Hangouts for my Empower Network Downline – Check!
  • Grow my Empower Network Team and Income – Check!

Summary

To summarize, while my blog traffic dipped a little bit, my blog income went up while my expenses went down a bit.

All in all, I made a net income of $1,199.15 from my Blog business this month, which is about a 600% increase in income as compared to last month, so I’m really happy about that!

You may remember that in January I wrote a post declaring my intention to build up my blog business income up to the point where I can get a Free Car from Blogging.

In March my wife actually ended up getting her brand new car which her home based business pays for.

Here’s a short video of her new baby!

Now that my Blog business income has gone up, I think it’s time for me to start looking to see what kind of car I want.

I’ve actually started looking already at different cars, but it’s actually not as easy I thought it would be to find a car that I like.

I’ll write a blog post update on my car search soon. 🙂

Final Words

If you’re one of the people who recently got laid off, or if you do have a job which just isn’t paying you enough, or you’re just bored with it, why not consider building a business making money online?

Do you actually have to DO something in order to make money?  YES!

Will a billion dollars just pour out of the sky and will a Ferrari magically appear in your driveway out of thin air five minutes after you start building your online business?  Not unless you’re a Jedi or something.

It does take a bit of effort and it does require a bit of an investment of money and time on your part, but building an online business can be a LOT of fun and it IS possible to make quite a lucrative income if you just keep learning, keep applying what you learn and keep moving forward.
