My 9 year blogging “anniversary” is coming up in April.

I can’t believe it’s already been that long since I started blogging.

I can still remember writing my first blog post.  It took me two days to write that thing, as I kept re-writing it, going over it and trying to make sure it’s “perfect” – LOL.

It wasn’t perfect.  Not even close.  But there is this fear that most of us have of putting something “out there”, publicly, for everyone to see and potentially judge.

For most people, this fear scares them away and they allow that fear of being judged by others to stop them from getting started with Blogging.

It’s a shame because I can’t even describe the amazing feeling that comes from overcoming that fear, publishing your first blog post, and just starting to blog on a regular basis.

It’s awesome!  It’s very liberating!

It’s your own piece of “real estate” on the Internet, where you can express your opinions, share your ideas and help others!

Of course, back in those days I didn’t have awesome tools like the Kalatu Brand Station to make the process of launching my blog and writing my first blog post as easy as it is now.

Today, the process of launching a blog is so much easier.

Anyone can do it!

Who is Blogging For?

One of the interesting things that I’ve realized over the years is that often times when I would talk to people about blogging, and share some of the benefits I’ve gotten from it, most people would listen to what I was saying, and then eventually they would ask this question:

“Wait…Paul, do you think that I should have a blog??”

And in virtually every situation I would reply with “YES!  Why do you think I’ve been talking to you about it!  I’m not telling you how awesome blogging is so that I can brag about my Blog, I’m trying to encourage you to consider starting a Blog for yourself, and your business!”

The funny thing is that for some reason, people don’t think that Blogging is for them or their type of business.

I’m here to dispel that right now.

So who is Blogging for?  What kinds of people / businesses can benefit from having a blog?

Blogging is For Healers and Lightworkers

I’ll start with one of the easiest groups of people for me to recommend blogging to.

My wife Drea is an energy healer and a psychic / medium.

I encouraged her to start a Blog way back in December of 2009, where she could share her thoughts and ideas with people on various topics related to energy healing and spirituality.

At that time she was still employed full time in the corporate world and the idea of being a full time healer / psychic was just a dream of hers.

Today she does those things full time and loves her work.

I can attest to the fact that a lot of her clients learn about her through her blog / website, and to be honest it kind of boggles my mind that there are healers out there who are trying to build their businesses but they don’t have a blog / website yet.

It’s 2015, not 1990… You NEED to have a Blog / Website for your clients to find you.

Blogging is for Chiropractors and Natural Health Providers

Another one of the people who I strongly encouraged to get into Blogging and eventually video Blogging is my friend Dr. Nima Rahmany who is a Chiropractor / Speaker / Edutainer.

When I first met Dr. Nima, he was running a website for his healing practice – Westgate Wellness – and he had an old Blog that was basically dead, just collecting cobwebs.

I encouraged him to resurrect his DrNima.com website, and to start blogging separately from his Westgate Wellness site, so that he would have a place to be himself, and share his ideas and points of view on health, and to start building his individual brand.

Since then, Dr. Nima has blown up as a brand and has produced numerous blog posts, videos and workshops.

I think that every type of natural health provider should have a personal blog where they can share their perspectives.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a Chiropractor or a Naturopath or an Acupuncturist or even a Dentist.

If you work with people, you should have a Blog!

People choose the people who they get advice from on health related issues based on how much they LIKE and RESONATE with the practitioner.

A Blog can help your potential clients learn about who YOU are, and help you to attract more customers who will want your help with improving their health.

Blogging is For DJs and Musicians

DJs and musicians are another group of people who can benefit from having a Blog.

Most DJs make the mistake of relying on services like Facebook and Soundcloud as ways of connecting with their fans, and they put a lot of effort into building followers on these types of sites.

The challenge with that approach is that you don’t OWN any of those sites, nor do you own your LISTS of fans.

Soundcloud could ban you tomorrow, or go out of business, or they could change their service around and become annoying to their listeners, and people might not use the site anymore.

A new competitor that’s 10x better than Soundcloud could appear on the scene and all that time you spent building up your following could go to waste.

Same thing with Facebook.  So many people spent so much time and resources building up their Facebook Fan page followings, investing time and money to build up a large follower count.

However, recently Facebook changed the way they display their fan page content, and the majority of people are now getting almost no visibility at all when posting on their fan pages.

What good is having 5,000 or 10,000 or even 100,000 “Fans” on Facebook, when only 1% or less of them actually see your posts.

Facebook now wants you to PAY to connect with your followers.

But it’s not just about Facebook.

ANY website out there where you build up a following and an audience, can disappear overnight, or to change directions with no warning because YOU don’t OWN the list.

As a Blogger, you create your own domain, you OWN the content on that domain and you can setup a capture form to start building a list of email subscribers that YOU OWN!

Of course you can still use sites like Soundcloud or Facebook or Twitter or YouTube or any number of sites out there to develop followers and connect with fans, but your Blog becomes your central HUB where you pull everyone to, and encourage them to subscribe to your list so that no matter what happens with these other sites, you’re building YOUR own list.

Digital DJ Tips recently wrote an article sharing 7 reasons why DJs Need a Blog.

The challenge for most DJs has been that they’re too busy to start figuring out how to setup a Blog and get it up and running and to keep track of plugins and technology and all that.  However, now that Kalatu Brand Station is out, any DJ can start a blog in a matter of minutes and start building their brand and their own list of fans.

Blogging is for Real Estate Agents

Realtors are another group of people who can benefit from having a Blog.

It’s a well known fact in the real estate industry that most people in North America have a 7-year “itch cycle”, which means that most people sell and buy new homes every 7 years or so – on average.

Most realtors spend a lot of time and energy on trying to find new clients who are ready to make that change – either selling their home, or buying a new one, or both.

However, smart realtors realize that maintaining a relationship with their clients IN BETWEEN their 7 year “itch cycle” can be a great way to make sure that when people are finally ready to make a move, they choose YOU as the realtor to represent them.

But why would a real estate client want to read a realtor’s blog if they are not currently looking to buy a house?

Well, it’s all about value.

Realtors can create content, or even pay someone else to create content for them to help clients maintain their homes in between moves.

For example, imagine if a realtor wrote an article detailing the statistics behind renovating a bathroom or a kitchen and how it relates to re-sale value.

A client who might not be looking to sell their home right now, might be interested that for the future while trying to decide if it’s worth it to invest $25,000 to renovate their bathroom or kitchen.

How about an article giving people 10 tips for improving the value of your home with simple maintenance.

The point is that there is a million different ways that a realtor could provide his clients with useful information, tips and resources related to the clients home.

And then when a client who you keep in touch with and help out like this gets to the point in their life when they’re ready to make another move, guess who they’re going to call for their real estate needs?

The realtor who has been offering them useful tips and resources for years, or someone they haven’t heard from for the last 7 years?

It’s a no brainer!

Every Realtor needs a Blog, and now that Kalatu Brand Station is out and has made the process so simple and affordable, there really is no excuse.

Blogging is for Artists

Artists are another example of a group of people that could absolutely benefit from having a Blog.

In the times we live in now where art can be produced and re-produced in mass quantities and sold for next to nothing at stores like Walmart or Ikea or Costco, etc. it’s not always easy for artists to find a way to differentiate their artful creations from something someone sees at a store for 1/20th the price.

The way to differentiate yourself as an artist from the mass-produced “crap” out there is to share the STORY behind your art work with your potential clients.

If I’m going to spend $250 or $500 or $5,000 or $50,000 on a piece of artwork, I want to know WHO the artist is, WHY they do what they do and what the art MEANS to them.

Showcasing your art in a gallery, is of course one of the ways that artists often can differentiate their work from the mass produced stuff sold at stores, but a Blog can also be an awesome way to do that.

My wife had a piece of artwork commissioned by a local artist named Linzy Arnott recently, and after she received the art work my wife loved the piece so much she wrote a Blog post on HER site about it.

I’m a firm believer that every piece of art work contains a story, meaning and the artists energy inside it, but not a lot of artists take the time to communicate that with their potential customers.

Most of them just setup very simple e-commerce websites, trying to sell their artwork with nothing but a picture and a title and maybe the dimensions of the piece.

Why not write a simple Blog post for each piece that you’re creating or a series of pieces you’re creating.

I’m sure someone would be much more likely to spend $500 or $5,000 or $50,000 for a piece of artwork if they knew more about the story and meaning and energy behind it.

As I’ve mentioned several times already in this post, now that Kalatu Brand Station has been released, the process of setting up your own blog and website is simple and easy and every artist should have a blog for their artwork / business.

Blogging is For Internet Marketers

Probably the most obvious group of people who I believe should ALL have a Blog is anyone who wants to make money online as an Internet Marketer.

It’s funny because over the years I’ve heard so many different types of marketers out there, like affiliate marketers or SEO guys or pay-per-click specialists or various different marketers saying that blogging is a waste of time for them, as they make so much more money doing those other things that they don’t want to waste their time blogging.

The funny thing is that with almost 100% certainty, I eventually see those same people popping up a few months later or a few years later, starting a Blog when their lucrative income stream dries up or they realize the incredible power behind blogging.

I’ve been been in mastermind groups where a high-profile Internet Marketer said that blogging is a waste of time and he would never do it…. and then 6 months later I saw him starting a new Blog when he realized he was wrong because he finally saw the data and statistics behind blogging and how powerful it is.

I’ve heard every excuse you can imagine, but at the end of the day if you’re an Internet Marketer and you don’t have your own Blog as a central hub for all of your work and projects – you’re insane and you’re missing out.

Stop making excuses and start a blog today.

Who Else Could Benefit From Blogging?

These are just SOME of the people who could benefit from blogging.

I believe that with rare exception, Blogging can enhance and benefit almost everyone in every profession.

I can see a lot of benefits to starting a Blog for people in almost any profession or interest group.
