60 Blog Posts in 60 Days – 5 Tips on How I Stayed Consistent

February 27, 2015 by Paul Leave a Comment

I’ve written a Blog post every single day for the last 60 days.

This is a new consistency record for me.

I’ve been blogging since 2006 but I’ve never maintained this level of consistency, writing every single day, for this long.

I’ve always been a sporadic Blogger who writes between around 5-20 Blog posts a month but without the daily consistency I’ve had in the last 60 days.

So what changed?

How did I go from being inconsistent for almost 9 years to finally writing consistently on a daily basis for 60 days and counting?

Here are a few things that I changed…

#1 – Not Allowing Myself Any Excuses

In the past, when I would try to Blog on a consistent basis, everything would usually go smoothly at first, but then I would inevitably run into some sort of strange “abnormal” situation that in my mind I would accept as a justifiable reason to not Blog for one day.

For example, let’s say that I was blogging daily for 20 days in a row and then I ended up getting sick and feeling so crappy that I didn’t even get out of bed.

In the past I would tell myself “Oh, it’s okay…this is a justified reason why I can’t write a Blog post today… I’ll just write a few extra ones when I fell better.”

And you know what?  As soon as I broke that streak of writing daily for even ONE DAY, it’s like a whole tidal wave of OTHER excuses would come pouring in and stop me from blogging.

So this time around I made a deal with myself that I would not allow any excuses to stop me.

My goal is to publish at least one Blog post per day, every day.

Ideally I prefer to write my Blog posts before the evening arrives, but the deal I made with myself is that in the worst case scenario where some weird circumstances arrive and prevent me from getting my Blog post done before night time, I told myself that I’m not allowed to go to bed until I write my Blog post.

In other words, sometime between waking up and going to bed I have to publish at least one Blog post (can also be a video).

The funny thing is that virtually as soon as I made the decision to not allow excuses to stop me, I ended up getting sick right in the beginning of January.

I felt like crap.  It was my first time getting sick in about 4 years and it wasn’t pretty.  I really felt horrible.

But you know what?  I still wrote my daily Blog posts regardless.

It actually wasn’t that difficult, because the decision was already made.   I wasn’t fighting with myself in my mind about whether I should or shouldn’t write a Blog post.

The decision was already made, I just had to execute.

In a lot of ways I think most of us ended up wasting 90% of our energy in INDECISION, trying to decide whether or not we’re going to follow through and do what we have told ourselves we will do, or if we’re going to break the promise we made ourselves.

Having that internal fight really drains your energy.

It’s much easier to just decide and then cut off any other possibilities from the equation.

There is no question whether I will publish a Blog post every day…the only question is when I’ll write or record it, whether it’ll be a text-based post, or a video or something else, and what topic my post will be about.

#2 – Creating a VERY Simple Plan for Myself

In addition to eliminating all excuses, I also implemented a VERY simple plan for myself that consists of only 3 things I strive to do daily.

  1. Write / Record and Publish at Least ONE Blog Post Per Day
  2. Promote My Blog Post(s) to My Email Subscribers / Facebook Group etc.
  3. Try to Improve SOME Aspect of My Blog or Content by at least 1%

That’s it.

All I do is create my one Blog post for each day and then I email it out to my email list and also promote it on social media sites, and then I also try to improve at least one part of my Blog or online business by 1% or more.

For example if I wanted to tweak some things on my Blog Theme, that would fall under #3, which I am allowed to do -BUT- it is always secondary to making sure #1 gets done first – my daily Blog Post.

Also, the only ONE thing on that list of 3 things that I *MUST* do each day, no negotiating is #1.

Ideally I also get #2 and #3 done each day a swell, but if I don’t – then I don’t.  My primary focus is just writing that Blog post.

In the past I would always learn some cool new trick or strategy or system for improving my Blog, and then I would spend all day and night setting things up, tweaking things and doing crazy Ninja Tactics and stuff, but then my daily Blog post would get pushed to the back-burner.

Now it’s the opposite of that.  I have to make sure I write or record one Blog post, and THEN everything else is secondary.

#3 – Eliminating Stupid Tech Challenges

Another thing that used to trip me up was running into technical challenges with my WordPress Blog  from time to time.

I would spend hours on end trying to fix or install or setup some new plugin or Widget, or fix something with my Theme and then realize that I’ve spent the whole day playing with that stuff and my Blog post or video never got made.

So this time around I decided to upgrade to a fully managed and supported WordPress platform called Kalatu.

Kalatu allowed me to focus on what matters most – BLOGGING – not wasting my time trying to figure out how to fix some weird WordPress error, or searching for the perfect theme to install.

That is pretty much it, those are the three things I put my focus on…

…and as soon as I did, things began to “click” for me, and writing daily became much easier.

The other thing that contributed to me getting into a consistent Blogging pattern was…

#4 – Getting Clear on MY Why

The other thing that helped me out tremendously is getting clear on my “WHY”.

As in, WHY do even Blog?  What’s it for?

I got clarity on that by declaring to myself and the world that I want to help 108 people retire from the jobs they hate and to start making money online, working from home, being their authentic / awesome self.

I put the focus on my audience – not me.

I SERIOUSLY 100% want to help 108 people reach that level of financial independence.

…AND I also got a lot more clarity as to what’s in it for me.

Meaning, what will *I* get from building a successful Blog…

… I decided that the first thing I will reward myself with will be a new car when my Blog reaches a stable $500+/month income level, so that way I essentially get a free car just by blogging once I reach that level of consistent income from my Blog and Blog related activities.

So this way I know WHY I’m doing this for myself and WHY I’m doing this for my audience as well.

Oh yeah, I just realized there was one more thing…

#5 – Scoreboard

Last month I wrote a Blog post which talked about having a score board for your goals.

I’ve been keeping a scoreboard running for myself, and I update it daily, and sometimes even multiple times per day.

That’s it!  These are the 5 things that I did to significantly boost my consistency as a Blogger. 🙂

How about you?

Have you started Blogging daily yet?

What kind of strategies have you found to work for you in staying consistent in life?

Get Mentored by Me Personally

February 25, 2015 by Paul Leave a Comment

I am happy to announce that I am once again offering 1-on-1 mentoring services on a limited capacity to those who want direct 1-on-1 help from me.

I am only able to open this up to a maximum of 5 people, as my time is very limited and I prefer to focus my energy and attention on helping each individual in a much greater capacity than I would if I took on more clients.

So what kind of stuff can my mentoring help people with?

Primarily I help people who want to take their business or their life’s purpose to the next level, and who might struggling in certain areas and feeling stuck.

My services page gives a more detailed listing of the types of consulting that I do and have done in the past, as well highlights some of my credentials, certifications and my experience in each area.

I’m offering three flexible packages for people who want to work with me.

Package #1 – Month-to-Month Consulting

My month-to-month consulting package is the most flexible package which allows you to decide, on a month-to-month basis where to continue on with my services.

I’m very confident that I can produce results for the clients that I take on, and that any money spent with me on consulting will pay for itself many times over.

However, for people who have never worked with me in the past, and who don’t know what to expect yet, a more long term consulting agreement might not be something they’re comfortable start with, which is why I have the month-to-month contract option.

The package includes two 90-minute sessions per month with me over the telephone or Skype and unlimited email support.

I also include a personal guarantee to any of my clients where if you don’t feel like you’ve gotten at least DOUBLE the value that you paid for your monthly package after our initial 90-minute consult, I’ll refund your money back no questions asked.

The month-to-month package rate is $497/month.

Package #2 – 3 Month Consulting Package

The 3 month consulting package is essentially identical to the month-to-month package except that you’re locking me in to help you for at least 3 months.

In addition to that with the 3 month package you’re saving yourself about 15% off the regular monthly price.

And once again, the 3 month package also comes with a full guarantee.  If you’re not happy with the our first session, I’ll refund your money no questions asked.

The 3 month consulting package is $1,297 for 3 months and then you can either renew on a month-to-month basis or buy another 3-month package.

Package #3 – The Join My Team Package

The “Join My Team” package is specifically for people on a tighter budget who want access to my mentoring and energy and help specifically for launching a Blog / Website and learning how to market themselves online.

This package basically includes the following:

  • Month-to-month commitment, no contract
  • Access to private Facebook group
  • Access to “Free You Now Inner Circle” Membership site
  • Access to private videos and training
  • Access to Kalatu Blogging Platform and Affiliate Program
  • Access to group calls, hangouts and group coaching with me
  • Price: $45/month
  • Click here to learn more

With this package you are basically joining my team at Empower Network, and getting access to the training they provide as well.

You get access to me in a group setting (not 1-on-1), which is ideal if you’re on a tight budget.

The first 2 packages ARE limited to the first 5 people, so if you’d like to learn more about working with me, simply check out my services page and then contact me with some basic details of what you’d like help with.

The third package which is in a group environment is not limited to just 5 people, but the price is subject to go up if Empower Network raises their pricing, so if you’d like to lock in this lower price of just $45/m, click here to learn more.

Invitation to Join My Team

February 18, 2015 by Paul 1 Comment

I’d like to take moment today to personally invite you to join my team at Empower Network.

My personal goal is to help 108 people to achieve the following goals in their lives:

  1. To discover and connect with your true passion in life
  2. To learn how to make a full time income online, from home, as a Blogger / Internet Marketer
  3. To replace your job income so that you can quit and be an entrepreneur full time
  4. To learn the success principles required for success
  5. To discover and eliminate any mental or spiritual blocks holding you back
  6. To help you develop more confidence in yourself
  7. To meet and mastermind with like-minded people
  8. To embrace the concept of “Learn, Do, Teach”
  9. To activate the Universal Law of Attraction in your life and take things to the next level

I have chosen the number 108 for certain personal and spiritual reasons, but also because there is a limited amount of people that I want to work with right now, so that I can give the best of my energy to those on my team.

I currently have 21 of those slots already filled, so there are 87 more slots available right now, but they are getting filled up FAST!

If you want to have a chance to work with me personally, I strongly recommend that you get signed up right away before this opportunity is gone.

Once the seats get filled up, I will no longer be accepting more people to work with directly in the small group setting I prefer.

Does Multi-Level Marketing Run in Your Blood?

A large percentage of the people who are on my team have what I call “MLM Blood”.

What I mean by “MLM Blood” is that if you have “MLM Blood” it means that at some point in your life, you joined some MLM and you saw the DREAM.

You saw the idea behind leveraged, passive income, in a system that is built on a WIN-WIN-WIN philosophy, and you were hooked!

However, maybe you’ve struggled over the years to make any real money in MLM companies, no matter what kind of products you’ve tried to promote or what kind of tactics you’ve tried to use on your friends and family to get them to join.

If this is you, you’ll fit perfectly on our team.

You will learn how to end those years of struggle and how to finally start making money in the direct selling industry – oh, and you won’t even have to bug your friends and family!

No seriously…you really should stop doing that.

There’s a better way.

Or Have You Ever Wanted to Start a Blog?

I’ve been a Blogger for over 8 years, and I’ve produced over 800 blog posts and video blogs, and have written various eBooks, reports and home study courses.

I’ve also helped dozens of people to start Blogging, regardless how SHY, how INTROVERTED they are or how scared they are to write their first blog post.

Don’t know what to Blog about?  I’ve got a solution for that which I teach my team-mates.

Scared to do video Blog posts?  I can teach you how to overcome that fear literally overnight.

Scared that you’re not “tech-savvy” enough?

If you can write an email, you can Blog.  With the new Kalatu platform we have, tech-skills are no longer required!

Seriously…it’s super easy.  They even tested it on 10 year old kids who found it super easy as well.

Or Are You Ready to Start Branding Yourself?

If you’re an artist, musician, healer, chiropractor, DJ, producer, actor, Realtor, personal trainer, coach, mentor, photographer, massage therapist, or any other type of person who is in a profession where having a personal brand with your audience is important, then you’ll love working with me on my team and using the Kalatu Brand Station to build your personal brand.

I’ll help you get in touch with what your brand is, and plug you into the training you need to establish a strong, clear and effective personal brand.

Feeling Stuck?

My specialty is helping people who are feeling “stuck” to get “unstuck”.

With over 20 years of personal development experience, and with a plethora of different personal development tools and modalities under my belt, I can help you to figure what beliefs and “stuck points” are keeping you stuck in your current situation, and how to get rid of them!

From time to time, we all get stuck.

And it’s hard to get “unstuck” by yourself, because we are inside our own limiting beliefs looking outwards from the inside, and so we can’t see them ourselves.

Figuring out what your limiting beliefs are, is MUCH easier to do by someone outside of yourself, such as a trained mentor / belief-change specialist like myself.

Think of it like trying to give yourself a haircut.

Yes it’s possible to cut your own hair if you shave it, but imagine trying to give yourself an actual styled haircut with your own scissors by looking in the mirror.

It’s not easy, right!?

It’s much easier for someone who is not “stuck” inside our own body to cut our hair because they can see your head from every angle and they can cut your hair properly.

Eliminating limiting beliefs is similar to that… it’s MUCH easier to do by someone else than to try to do it yourself.

Ready to Have Some Fun

Want to join my team and have some awesome fun as well??

You’ve got three options.

Option 1 – You can stay where you are, and do nothing.  And your life will continue just as it is.  Nothing will improve.

Option 2 – You can join my team by watching the video on this page which explains everything you need to know in order to get started.

Option 3 – BONUS! You can join my team by watching the same video on this page and then use my contact form to contact me and request FREE access to my “FreeYouNow Inner Circle” group.  Membership is limited to the first 108 people 87 slots left so make the decision now to get started by clicking on this link here.

See you on the inside!

P.s.  Eagles don’t learn to soar by hanging out with a bunch of turkeys!  Are you hanging out with a bunch of turkeys and wondering why you haven’t learned to soar yet?

The Number One Reason You Can Make Your Dreams Come True

February 15, 2015 by Paul Leave a Comment

Sometimes I have these weird moments where a strange thought pops into my mind and I’m like “Woa… that’s crazy…”

This evening I was out for dinner with my wife, eating at this small Fish’n’Chips place near our house that recently opened up, and suddenly this thought popped into my mind…

It was a realization that we were sitting there, and eating at a restaurant that started out as someone’s dream!

I am pretty sure that the lady that served us is the owner or the wife of the owner, so that Fish’n’Chips place was/is their dream…

…and my wife and I were sitting INSIDE their dream, eating the fish and chips that they dreamed up the recipe for and it was delicious.

Then I started thinking that we are SURROUNDED by and living and enjoying not just ours but other people’s dreams as well.

The car we drive in, was someone’s dream!  Maybe it was a group of people, but before the car was ever created it had to first be dreamed up.

The computer or mobile device or tablet that you’re on right now, reading this post, was at one point someone’s dream.

When you go to eat at any restaurant, that restaurant started off as a dream and now it is reality.

And when you eat at a restaurant, there’s a chef there that cooks your food, and becoming a chef was their dream at some point as well.

And that chef probably went to culinary school, and they were taught by a culinary school teacher, and that teacher also had a dream… his dream was to teach chefs.

And the school that the teacher taught at, and the chef studied at, well that school was someone’s dream as well!

And the construction crew that built the school is owned by someone who once had a dream to run his own construction company.

Everything around us, was once a dream.

And then SOMEONE made it a reality.

And you know what?

I bet that this someone who made that thing a reality had to face certain obstacles before their dream was realized.

They probably faced doubt, criticism, challenges, struggles and setbacks along the way towards achieving their dream.

But you know what?  In the end, they MUST have prevailed and made their dreams come true, otherwise whatever that thing is wouldn’t exist.

How inspiring is that?!

Any time we open our eyes and look around, all around us we can see REALIZED dreams from people who dared to dream, and then made those dreams come true.

So ask yourself this question…

If almost EVERYTHING around us was once someone’s DREAM and then that person or group of people found a way to REALIZE those dreams – making them a reality – then why not you?

If THEY can do it, then you can do it too!

You can do it.

You can make your dreams come true.

16 Personality Types – Which One Are You?

February 9, 2015 by Paul 3 Comments

Did you know that there are 16 personality types?

There are 4 major types – the “Analysts”, the “Diplomats”, the “Sentinels”, and the “Explorers”.

And then within each of the 4 major types of personalities, there are 4 sub-types within each one, for a total of 16 personality types.

Each personality type is a combination of four pairs of personality traits.

The four personality train pairs are:

  • Introversion (I) or Extraversion (E)
  • Intuition (N) or Sensing (S)
  • Thinking (T) or Feeling (F)
  • Judging (J) or Perceiving (P)

From these four pairs, the possible combinations become:

Analysts

  • INTJ
  • INTP
  • ENTJ
  • ENTP

Diplomats

  • INFJ
  • INFP
  • ENFJ
  • ENFP

Sentinels

  • ISTJ
  • ISFJ
  • ESTJ
  • ESFJ

Explorers

  • ISTP
  • ISFP
  • ESTP
  • ESFP

How to Determine Your Personality Type

There’s a really cool, free online personality test available at 16 Personalities that you can take to determine which of the 16 personalities you are.

It takes less than 12 minutes to complete the test and everyone I know who has taken the test swears by it’s accuracy.

When I took the test I found out I was an INTP personality type.

The cool thing about the website is that it also gives you a much more detailed analysis of what that personality type means.

For example, the website gives you an analysis of your strengths and weaknesses generally speaking in every area of life, as well as what your personality type generally behaves like in relationships, friendships, as a parent, on their career path and your workplace habits.

It’s pretty amazing how dead-on the personality typing really is.

You can learn a lot about yourself, and how and why you behave certain ways by understanding your personality type.

16 Personality Types And Blogging

One of the cool things about figuring out what your personality type is, is that you can gain a lot more clarity as to what kind of blog to start.

Meaning, one of the key differentiating factors to YOUR Blog, which can make it very successful, will be YOUR personality.

For example, the INTP personality type that I have is pretty rare.  They say less than 3% of the population are INTPs.

That means that even if there were 100 Bloggers out there writing the exact same blog posts on the exact same topics as me, 97% of them would write from a completely different perspective than I would because their personalities are different.

What this also means is that if you have any doubts or reservations about your ability to build a successful blog, because you’re worried that maybe there’s too much competition out there, stop worrying about that.

There are VERY FEW successful bloggers out there who are going to have the exact same personality type as you, and who are going to be blogging on the exact same topics as you.

Then if you factor in the fact that everyone has a different set of reference experiences in their life, and you start to realize that there really is NO COMPETITION out there for you!

In other words, there’s NOBODY out there like YOU, with the exact same opinions as you, with the exact same personality type etc.

The other thing is that most bloggers out there are NOT aware of their personality type, and so many of them struggle because they are trying to COPY someone else’s blogging style.

For example, I love a lot of the stuff that Gary Vaynerchuk does, and I watch his videos and read his blog posts.

He’s an awesome guy.

However, Gary has a completely different personality type from me.

So even though I think a lot of the stuff that he does is just awesome, I would completely fall flat on my face if I tried to COPY him exactly.

I can learn from him, and I can apply what he teaches in my own way, that is congruent with MY personality type, but if I try to COPY him exactly – trying to pretend that I have the same personality as he does – I’ll seem completely unauthentic to my audience and I won’t ENJOY the process of Blogging.

You can’t pretend to be someone you’re not.

That is why I think it’s a great idea to find out what YOUR personality type is, and then to study your strengths and weaknesses and then use that information to help you become a better blogger.

16 Personality Types and Your MLM Team

Another area where knowing your personality type can be of great value is when you’re building a team inside an MLM organization.

Knowing YOUR personality type and the personality types of your team-mates can help you better understand them and what motivates THEM.

In most cases, what motivates YOU and what motivates your team-mates will NOT be the same thing.

For example, there are certain personality types who just LOVE social gatherings.

So for example if you are building an MLM team, and you have someone on your team who is that personality type, and you’re thinking of putting together a team event, like a pot-luck or any type of social gathering, those people will most likely ENJOY putting that event together more than other personality types like mine for example.

In my life I almost NEVER put on and organize social events.  That is my wife’s specialty.

She ENJOYS doing it because it matches her personality type.  It doesn’t match mine, so I do NOT enjoy doing it.

By knowing who you are, and who everyone on your team is, you can become a much better leader and team-mate.

Want to Learn More About the 16 Personality Types?

If you really want to dive into understanding the 16 personality types, you’ll want to pickup this book called “Please Understand Me II” by David Keirsey.

It’s not as “pretty” as the 16 personality types website, but it does go into a lot of depth on teach of the personality types and the interactions between them.

I bought the book about 8 years ago, when I was still working in the corporate world, and once I realized that all of my employees had completely different personalities than me, I started to better understand them.

Instead of getting frustrated with how they would act or think or what would and wouldn’t motivate them, I started to UNDERSTAND them.

This was a HUGE “aha” moment for me as a manager.

The same awareness can be applied to Blogging, or building a team within an MLM company or even your relationships with your spouse, family, friends etc.
