My Mindset Hack Which Solidified My Commitment to Blogging Long Term

August 18, 2015 by Paul 7 Comments

As someone who has been blogging for over 9 years now, one of the things that has fascinated me for a long time is trying to understand the seemingly endless motivation I and many others have for blogging.

I know I didn’t start out having this motivation when I first started blogging.

It’s a mindset that I cultivated inside my mind which now allows me to blog consistently for long periods of time, without giving up, while so many other people quit.

So what is this mindset?

What set of beliefs do I have inside my mind which allow me to continue blogging and to be committed to it for so long?

After searching for an answer to this for quite some time, I think one of the PRIMARY beliefs and mindsets that I have related to my blogs is one of LEGACY.

Let me explain what I mean by that.

When I speak with most people who are starting a Blog, their mindset and thinking focuses mostly on what blogging can do for them today, tomorrow or the next day.

Meaning, their thinking is very short term and they think about Blogging in terms of “If I invest my time and energy writing this blog post, what do I get out of it now?”

Nothing wrong with that line of thinking, and I think that was as well…

…however, there’s also another mindset that I have about Blogging that goes far beyond that.

When I write my Blog posts, I also think about how my Blog post might be able to help someone today, tomorrow, a week, a month, a year or even 500 years from now.

I believe that we’ve reached a point in our civilization where everything we publicly publish on the Internet gets recorded and stored forever.

Therefore, when I write a Blog post I see it as a complete possibility that someone even 500 years from now may be reading a Blog post I write today or a video that I produce, no different from how today we read the works of authors who wrote things hundreds of years ago.

In fact, since my spiritual beliefs are that who we really are is an everlasting Soul and because I believe in re-incarnation, it’s entirely possible that perhaps one day I may be drawn to read my own Blog posts in another incarnation!

At the very least I can see the possibility of at least some of the content that I produce on my Blog outliving me and having a positive impact on someone even after I’m no longer here.

Just the same way that a person like Bruce Lee left his legacy of films, interviews, philosophies and his martial art – Jeet Kune Do – for generations to consume and be inspired by, I believe every one of us has the ability to create content as Bloggers or Video Bloggers and leave our own legacy with it.

For me Blogging is a passion and it’s a way I generate income for myself and my family, but it’s also something I look at as a way to leave a piece of myself as a legacy for future generations.

I find it inspiring to visualize someone today, or a month from now, or 1 year from now or 50 years from now or 100 years from now reading one of my Blog posts, or watching one of my videos and getting value from it.

I think it is because I have essentially programmed my mind to believe THAT scenario as an entirely realistic possibility, that I find the motivation to keep Blogging while so many other people quit.

The reason being is that the way I look at it is even if I write a Blog post today, and it doesn’t generate any income for me today or tomorrow or it doesn’t get a lot of comments or responses, or even if Google doesn’t rank it well in their search engine – it doesn’t really matter, because I know that if I put positive intention and energy into it, my Blog post WILL help someone somewhere at some point in time.

If not today, maybe tomorrow, or the next day, or 500 years from now.

I have that faith because I’ve conditioned my mind to believe that, and that belief helps me to continue to Blog and to ENJOY the process of Blogging. 🙂

What about you?

Have you found something that inspired you to continue Blogging long term?

If so, what is it?

3 Reasons Blogging is Better For Lightworkers Than Posting on Facebook

August 14, 2015 by Paul Leave a Comment

One of the more common reasons that people say that they don’t want to start a Blog is because they say they don’t have the time.

We all have busy schedules and lives, and I totally understand the time commitment required to blog on a regular basis.

However, I often find that the very people who say that they don’t have time to Blog, are constantly posting and sharing pictures, videos, and writing multiple-paragraph posts on Facebook.

This is especially true for Lightworkers – people who have a desire to positively impact our planet.

Most Lightworkers I meet have a message inside them, and they desire to share that message with as many people as possible to impact their lives in a positive way.

A Blog is an awesome outlet for that with many benefits.

Most Lightworkers who don’t have a Blog though, will often put in a lot of time posting positive things on Facebook and sharing them with people.

They feel that deep desire to share and help people, and they try to use Facebook as a platform for that.

Here’s why that is NOT a good idea, and why starting a Blog is MUCH better.

#1 – Blog Posts Can Grab Attention Better

The truth is that when someone posts a paragraph or multiple-paragraphs of text on Facebook as their status update, trying to share a positive message with people, most people will simply ignore and scroll right past that status update.

People on Facebook are more and more becoming conditioned to just keep scrolling and scrolling and to quickly look at pictures, or perhaps a video that grabs their attention, but any amount of text beyond a few words usually gets ignored.

If you take your message and convert it into a Blog post (just like this one), and you share that blog post on Facebook, there is a much higher chance that someone on Facebook will actually read it because you can write a headline which grabs someone’s attention and include a picture as well.

Once someone reads the headline and sees the picture you posted with your Blog post, if they are interested in reading it, they will click through to you Blog and read the actual article ON your Blog where they are much less likely to get distracted by Facebook.

This means that the hard work you put into sharing your positive message is much more likely to be seen by your Facebook friends, simply by taking the content you were already going to be creating for Facebook and making a Blog post out of it.

#2 – Facebook Posts Have a VERY Short Lifespan

When you write a post on Facebook, not only is a very tiny percentage of your audience actually exposed to it, but also that message has a VERY short lifespan.

A Facebook message is usually posted, and shows up in some of your friend’s timelines, and sometimes just a few minutes later it disappears forever.

Of course people can go to your Facebook profile page and scroll through your posts to try to find an older post you posted, but very few people actually do that.

The majority of people on Facebook can barely keep up with their own Facebook wall, so they’ll usually never bother trying to dig through your posts to see if they find something interesting.

The truth is that once you post something on Facebook, it has a very short and limited lifespan, and then that message is gone.

Contrast that with writing a Blog post.

Once you write and publish a Blog post, which only takes a few extra minutes as compared to posting the same content on Facebook, that Blog post can live on the Internet forever!

For example, this Blog post and the hundreds of posts I’ve written on this Blog are indexed into the Google search engine and can potentially be found by people at any time, any day, anywhere in the world.

I have people visiting my Blog and reading Blog posts that I had written months or years ago.

Every Blog post that I write has the potential to positively influence someone at any time, anywhere in the world.

In fact, since there are a lot of Internet archives sites which store public date from the Internet, it’s entirely possible that people might still be reading my Blog posts hundreds of years from now.

Imagine writing a positive Blog posts and having your great, great, great, great grandchildren reading it a few hundred years from now.

How cool would it be if YOU could read stuff that was written a few hundred years ago by one of your ancestors?

That’s entirely possible with Blogging today, but I really doubt anything you write on Facebook will survive that long since it’s hard to even find something that was posted on Facebook a few days ago!

#3 – Blog Post are Indexed by Google and Searchable Beyond Your Friends List

When you write a Blog post, Google will index your Blog post and it’s possible for people all around the planet to find your content.

So if you share something positive, it’s possible for ANYONE on the planet to benefit from that message.

When you post a post on Facebook, only a small group of people are exposed that message for a short period of time and then it disappears.

As a Lightworker, any time and energy you put into sharing a positive message in a Blog post can help an exponentially higher number of people than posting the same message on Facebook.

As an example, here’s a map of the world showing which countries in the world have had people visit my Blog.

Any country in blue has had some visitors to my Blog.  As you can see, besides a few countries I’ve had visitors from almost every country on the planet!

And this is just since the beginning of this year.

Your content simply won’t get that kind of exposure from your Facebook post updates unless you have a massive Fan page setup with tens of thousands of followers.

2015-08-16_12-15-25[1]

There are just a few of the reasons why Blogging is so much better than posting to your Facebook wall.

I’m not saying that every Facebook update post is worthy of a Blog post, but from what I’ve seen from people who are Lightworkers, a LOT of the stuff that they write on their wall could easily be turned into a Blog post with just a little bit more effort and produce a LOT more benefit for the world AND to the person writing the content.

Is Trying Harder the Solution to Not Getting Results?

August 10, 2015 by Paul 1 Comment

Here’s an awesome video segment from Abraham / Hicks which dives into the question of what can we do when things are not working out like we had hoped.

Does trying harder in these types of situations produce better results?

Or does trying harder work against us?

Abraham explains it in this video:

What do you think?

How to Deal With a Very Negative Person

July 31, 2015 by Paul 2 Comments

Nothing destroys creativity and your ability to manifest your dreams faster than putting yourself in the presence of ultra negative people who refuse to take 100% responsibility for their lives and instead just prefer to spew negativity and victim mentality outwards into the world.

I once had an sales rep employee that was SO NEGATIVE and no matter what I tried to say to try to inspire him and to show him the positive side of the coin, he just got more and more negative. He would come into my office and be so negative, and 15mins later he would leave and I would be totally drained. HE would feel awesome though, as I just propped HIS energy up, while he sucked me dry.

After a few weeks of this torture I really didn’t know what to do. I don’t like giving up and firing people, especially since he was actually generating some sales for us, but his negativity was just draining me!

Every time he would come into my office and then leave, I’d be left with this black cloud in my office and my energy would be all fuzzy and depressed for like an hour afterwards unless I left on a break or did some meditating to bring myself back to center.

Then one day I read this article online where the author said that some negative people are like vampires and they just latch onto anyone who is positive and they throw negativity at them and then they wait for the person to try to cheer them up. They suck up that positive energy like a vampire. And the only way to stop it is to STOP trying to make them feel better.

It sounds counter intuitive, especially for people healer-type personalities like myself who always want to help people!

So the advice this author gave was that next time that person comes into your space, and starts spewing negative crap at you, to just mirror it right back to them and even amplify the negativity a bit just for fun!  Don’t go overboard, but just amplify the negativity by like 10% or 20%. 🙂

So that is what I did. This person came into my office and started off with their usual rant about how crappy things are, and I just let him vent and talk, and when he was done, I agreed with him that things do definitely sound horrible and suggested that maybe things are even worse than he described.

He was shocked!

I wasn’t giving him positive energy anymore. He tried a few different angles and threw some more negative things at me based on different topics, and I just continued to mirror the negativity right back and make it even a little bit more negative.

He was shocked and then he got this look on his face.  It was this little smirk almost as if he was thinking “Crap… this guy is onto me.  He figured out that all this time I’ve just been coming in here to drain his positive energy and to suck him dry. Dammit.  He’s onto me!”

Still a little bit shocked, he didn’t know what to do next, so he just got up and left my office disappointed that he didn’t get what he came for.

I felt great!  For the first time my energy didn’t feel drained when he left my office!!!

He didn’t get what he wanted. I didn’t give him my positive energy. So he left. LOL.

Shortly after that he quit. I didn’t even have to fire him. He realized he wasn’t going to get that positivity from me anymore so he just left.

So if you’re struggling with someone like that in your life… whether it’s a relative, or a co-worker or even a customer, and no matter what you’ve tried to do to cheer them up, this person just insists on being negative and you find their presence draining, try this out!

You’ll soon realize that the “relationship” this person has with you is that when they feel drained a little bit, they come to you to suck YOUR energy dry, just as if you were a wall outlet that they plug into in order to recharge their battery.

You’re not doing yourself any favors by allowing that relationship to continue that way, and you’re not doing THEM any favors either.

What they really need to do is to build a connection to Source, to their True Self and to gain access to Universal energy directly, not by sucking it dry from others.

Try it out, and you’ll see what I mean.

As soon as you stop being that positive energy “wall outlet” for these types of people, they’ll just disappear from your life, or at the very least they’ll stop being so negative.

I’m not saying these people are bad people either.  I just think they’ve become disconnected from who they really are, and they found this other way of tapping into that energy by draining it from other people.

Don’t allow it.  Help them by setting a clear energetic boundary to not allow that type of “energy vampire” behavior to continue.

Have you ever had to deal with a person like this?  Or are you dealing with one of these people right now?

Leave a comment below and let me know if you try this very effective method out, and what kind of results you get.

Why The Hell Did I Manifest This!?

July 23, 2015 by Paul 3 Comments

I’ve been a student of the Law of Attraction for about 13 years now and one of my earliest questions that I always used to wonder about, and probably the most common question I hear from people is “Why the hell did I manifest this!?”

Meaning, usually something happens in a person’s life that they perceive as a “negative” thing and they’re confused as to why that thing happened.

The usual example I like to use is car accidents.

Someone gets into a car accident and then they say to me “I don’t understand!  I wasn’t thinking about getting into a car accident!  I was just driving and thinking about what I’m going to have for dinner the next day and then BOOM, someone hit me!  There’s no way I manifested this.  I was in a good mood, I wasn’t thinking about someone hitting me!”

Well, look… NOBODY drives around thinking that they’re going to get into a car accident when it happens.

Then it wouldn’t really be an accident – LOL.

Let me share my perspective on how these things work, where something manifests in your life that you weren’t thinking about.

If you manifest something unexpected and seemingly “negative”, like for example a car accident or an injury or something like that… it’s for one of two reasons…

#1 – It’s Working to Your Benefit

Sometimes we ask the Universe for something that we really, really want, but we get STUCK in not knowing how to manifest the thing that we want.

For example, a friend of mine wanted a new car.  She kept talking about how she wanted a new car.

However, she already had an older car she was driving and she didn’t really want to sell it.

So the position she found herself in was where she wanted a new car, but already had a used car that she didn’t want to sell.

So then, one day while driving, one of her tires blew out suddenly and she crashed her old car into a pole.

Nobody got hurt, but the car was pretty much totaled.

Problem solved. 🙂

She now drives a new car.

Now, I’m not saying she crashed the car on purpose, or that she even THOUGHT about her old car crashing.

What I’m saying is that she wanted a new car, but felt a bit trapped in still having her old car, so the Universe manifested a set of circumstances which took care of that situation.

In the same way I’ve seen people talk about wanting a new job, but feeling trapped in their old job, and then one day they come into work and get fired or laid off and they’re surprised like “I can’t believe I got laid off!!!!”

Well, you’re asking the Universe for a NEW JOB, so what do you expect to happen!? 🙂

A lot of times when we manifest seemingly “negative” things, they aren’t actually negative things at all.

They are things that lead us toward what we REALLY want, and often times much faster than we ever imagined… it’s just that we haven’t seen the whole plan the Universe has for us yet.

So if you’re clear on what you want, and you’re feeling good about it and you’re keeping your vibration aligned with what you want, but something seemingly “negative” still happens, it most likely means that this thing will help you get what you want.  You just have to wait a little bit to see how it plays out.

Or, the other reason is this…

#2 – You’re Projecting / Vibrating the Matching Feeling to the Event

Going back to our car accident example…

Let’s say you get into a car accident, and it’s nothing related to reason #1 I mentioned above.

The other possibility is that you have been projecting / vibrating and thus ATTRACTING the same feeling that the car accident caused you to feel.

For example, lets say you got into the car accident and afterwards you felt anger and frustration and a sense of “I can’t believe this is happening to me!”

If that is the feeling that you went to after your car accident, look at your life for the weeks leading up to the car accident and ask yourself where in your life have you been feeling ANGRY and FRUSTRATED and a feeling of “I can’t believe this is happening to me!”

For example, let’s say that you run a business and you just found out that one of your employees has been stealing from you.

And let’s say that this causes you to feel angry, frustrated and a disbelief of “I can’t believe this is happening to me!”

And now let’s say that you fire this employee, and you spend the next 3 weeks telling and re-telling the story of this horrible employee to everyone you know and reliving that anger, and frustration and disbelief.

When you do that, you’re essentially sending out and order to the Universe to attract the same feelings…

“Hello Universe, I would like you to send me situations and circumstances where I will feel ANGER, FRUSTRATION and DISBELIEF…”

That’s basically what you’re telling the Universe.  That’s the order you’re giving it.

“Send me more of those things.”

So then, the Universe responds to that request, perhaps by manifesting this car accident in your life.

Why?  Because then you will once again feel ANGER and FRUSTRATION and DISBELIEF.

It’s not that you were telling the Universe “Hey, send me a car accident.”

You’re just saying “Send me ANYTHING that will make me feel this way.”

And the Universe just manifests whatever situations and circumstances that will mirror those feelings.

That is how it works.

And of course if after that car accident you then spend the next 3 weeks telling and re-telling the story of how this idiot hit you with his car, or whatever the situation was, guess what?

You’ll once again feel those feelings of ANGER and FRUSTRATION and DISBELIEF while telling your story to people, and guess what the Universe is hearing you ordering?

“Oh, you want MORE ANGER and MORE FRUSTRATION and MORE DISBELIEF?  Well, sounds dumb to me, but sure I can give you more of those…”

And then a few days later you once again manifest yet ANOTHER thing to be angry / frustrated about. 🙂

What to Do About This

So what do we do about this?  How do we stop this kind of crap from happening?

Well, in the first case, if it’s the Universe manifesting WHAT you want, but just in a method that you’d prefer to avoid, then just be more clear.

Let’s say you want to manifest a new car, then tell the Universe you want a new car in an easy and simple way, for the greatest good of all.

Essentially be more specific as to what you want.

Also, learn to ask yourself the question I cover in this video.

If it’s the second case, where you’re manifesting things that are a vibrational / feeling match to how you’ve been feeling lately, the only solution is to STOP feeling those ways.

If you’re angry about something, find ways to RELEASE that anger.

Don’t re-tell your story 100 times!

It’s okay to feel angry at times, but take that feeling and channel it into something positive.

Don’t just get stuck in an endless loop of constantly feeling anger over and over again.

Get help from people who know how to release stuck energy and unexpressed feelings so that you no longer have to keep manifesting more things in your life that make you feel that way.

If you don’t, then you’ll continue to manifest more and more situations, people and events which bring up those negative feelings again and again.
