My Wife’s New Car

March 16, 2015 by Paul 7 Comments

Last week I wrote a post stating that it was looking like my wife might be the first one out of the two of us to get a free car from blogging.

She started the year off by taking the 21 Day Blogging Challenge and it helped her to raise more awareness and to get more clients for her home based business.

We have both been in the market for a new car for a while now, since both our cars are over 10 years old.

When we made the decision to upgrade our cars at the beginning of this year, we also decided to do it by first focusing on boosting the income we make from our home based businesses by embracing Blogging on a regular basis.

We knew that getting new cars would be a lot of fun, but we also realized that just like most people out there, we don’t really like making car payments to pay for those cars. 🙂

So what we decided was that if we could first boost our business incomes to the point where the extra income paid for all or at the very least the majority of the car payments, then we would be able to get the benefit of getting a new car without the major drawback of having an extra payment to take care of.

That makes the process of getting a new car WAY more fun as my wife and I experienced this weekend when we bought her new car.

I shot this quick video today to show off her new Mazda that she bought, and to hopefully inspire others to consider starting their blogging careers by taking the 21 Day Blogging Challenge so that they can manifest the money to buy whatever they want in their lives – whether that’s a new car or something else.

Skulpt Aim Unboxing and Initial Review

March 10, 2015 by Paul 7 Comments

I have to admit – I’m a gadget freak.

I just love my gadgets. 🙂

That’s why when I first saw the Skulpt Aim Indiegogo campaign over a year ago, I wanted one right away.

The Skulpt Aim is a revolutionary new fitness tracking device that is takes a different approach to traditional fitness tracking.

How?

By allowing you to accurately track results – not activity!

Don’t get me wrong.  I love my activity trackers as well, but what’s unique about the Skulpt Aim is that it helps you to measure the actual results that the activities you’re doing are producing, so that you can quantify your results much better.

The device itself is a bit smaller than a typical cell phone in size, and it synchronizes with their cell phone app via Bluetooth.

I just got the Skulpt Aim this afternoon and I decided to shoot a couple of quick videos to show you guys how it looks and works.

The first video is the unboxing of the Skulpt Aim.

Once I unboxed it, I had to let it charge for a few hours and got the cell phone app setup as well before shooting this second video with my first impressions.

After playing around with the Skulpt Aim a bit more, here’s my first impressions of it:

What I Like:

  • Quality seems good.  Feels like it will be durable.
  • Very easy to use.  Only took a few minutes to understand how to use it.
  • Phone apps available for iPhone and Android – Yaay!
  • Phone app easy to use as well.  Graphics look nice too.
  • Rerunning multiple tests of the same body area seems to provide fairly consistent measurements.
  • Nice full-color screen.
  • Guest mode available.  Yaay!

What I’d Like to See Improved:

  • More cool graphs in the phone app would be nice to match what you see in their promo video.
  • Touch screen in a future version would be nice.
  • An affiliate program for bloggers! 🙂

Overall my first impressions of the Skulpt Aim are very positive.

Seems like a great device, and I’m looking forward to tracking my results with it.

The Skulpt Aim retails for $199 and you can purchase it from their website here.

Do You Love Gadgets?

If you’re a gadget freak like me, and you love playing with new gadgets as they come out, did you know that you can make money by blogging about gadgets, testing and reviewing them?

There’s an abundance of new gadgets coming out all the time and consumers today go online for reviews and opinions on new products.

As a blogger you can get paid to the gadgets you’d be buying anyways.

Do You Use Tools to Make Money Online or Are You The Tool?

March 4, 2015 by Paul 4 Comments

Today I decided to shoot a video where I share my perspective on using tools to make money online.

Here’s the video:

So what tools do I recommend for making money online?

There are basically three main tools I recommend every start with:

  1. Kalatu Brand Station – For blogging and branding yourself.  Your “home” on the Internet.
  2. AWeber Email Services – For all your email marketing needs.
  3. ClickFunnels – For creating customized landing pages, opt-in pages, sales pages and membership sites.

Those are the first three tools I would start with.

If you can’t afford all three, I would start with Kalatu and then add-on AWeber later on and finally ClickFunnels when you’re ready for that step.

How to Build a Blog / Vlog Audience in a World That Seems to Only Want Stupid Stuff

March 2, 2015 by Paul 3 Comments

I’ve had a few people asking me an interesting question related to Blogging or Vlogging recently.

The question is how do we build a blog audience or an audience on YouTube or Facebook and get people to engage with our content, when it seems like the only type of content people want to engage in is stupid stuff like cats or dogs doing stuff or people pulling pranks on each other etc.

If you’re a Blogger who creates content that is educational, or inspirational or you cover a topic that is a little bit more serious than cats doing silly things, it can be a bit discouraging to pour your heart and soul into a blog post or a video and then to publish it, and see very little or no engagement at all.

As a prime example of what I’m talking about, I recently uploaded a picture of myself onto Facebook with a beard that I just recently started to grow and I asked people if I should keep it or shave it off.

Here’s the post that I’m referring to:

Well, the interesting thing about this “stupid” post is that it got the highest engagement out of virtually any other post I have ever posted on Facebook – like over 80+ comments in about 24 hours.

That may not sound like a lot, but when I post something where I’m actually sharing something inspirational or educational or where I share a Blog post that teaches something, those types of posts are lucky to get 2 comments and a few likes.

A lot of new bloggers who are just getting started will know exactly what I’m talking about.

They’ll write a blog post or record a video, and they’ll publish it and then sit there wondering why nobody is commenting or liking their stuff.

Meanwhile, they’ll see some other blogger who just wrote one of the worst blog posts of his or her career, and there’s like 150 comments on it.

It can be VERY frustrating to see this happen, and it can make you start to think that maybe you’re not a good Blogger or that maybe there’s something wrong with your content etc.

However, that is very likely NOT TRUE!

There might be nothing wrong with your content.

Your content might be absolutely amazing…

However, you’re not realizing one KEY thing… and that is what I share in today’s video.

Check it out here:

If you enjoyed this video, and got some value from it, take a moment to click the thumbs up button that appears when you hover your mouse over the video.

Thanks!
